TOURNAMENT SIGN-UP PROCEDURES
Effective June 1, 2024
Beginning June 1, 2024, the DSGA will be utilizing the TeamReach cell phone application to register for tournaments and communicate among the members. Due to the ongoing Postal Service delays, it is expected that the July 2024 tournament will be our last to accept registration/payment by mail. It is planned that all future routine communications and notifications of rainouts will be via the app instead of by email.
DOWNLOADING AND SETTING UP THE APP
1. Depending on your cell phone, go to the Apple iPhone Store or Google Play Store and download the TeamReach app. It is free.
2. Follow the set up instructions. It doesn’t matter to the DSGA whether you sign up with your telephone number or an email address – whichever works best for you. Be sure to allow “Push Notifications” so you’ll be alerted when new communications go out through the app.
3. When asked for a Group Code, enter DSMGA1. You’re in!
4. If you do not have a cell phone, send an email to Walter Wolfe at wolfedawg81@gmail.com and he will manually add you. Please be advised that, via email, you will be limited to receiving TeamReach notices - you will not be able to send messages or sign up for tournaments via the app (a separate sign-up process will be determined by the Tournament Director).
TOURNAMENT REGISTRATION PROCEDURES
1. A few days after a tournament, the next month’s tournament will be added to the calendar and will be available for your sign-up. You should receive a notification through the app that it’s available.
2. If want to sign up:
a. Open the TeamReach app on your phone.
b. Select the calendar icon, then select the tournament name, then select “Yes.” That’s it!
c. You should utilize the “Add Comment” feature to identify whoever you’re requesting to play with. All members of your group must also register -- one person can’t register everyone in the group without advance approval of the Tournament Director. Keep in mind these comments are public and can be viewed by everyone.
d. Registration will be allowed until 3:00 p.m. on the Friday before the tournament. Registration after that time must be approved by the Tournament Director.
e. If you need to cancel after registering, you can go into the app to change your status to “No”. If you have to cancel after 3:00 p.m. on the Friday before the tournament please notify the Tournament Director.
3. If you’re not able to play, you can either do nothing or select “No” for the tournament. You can later change it to “Yes” if your situation changes. A “Maybe” response is not necessary.
TOURNAMENT PAYMENT PROCEDURES
All payments will be at the tournament via credits, check, cash, or a combination thereof. Credit balances are on the website and will be available at check-in. Checks must be made payable to DSGA; to save time at check-in, please have your check made out in advance. Cash payments must be exact change. Payments by mail (after the July 2024 tournament) and electronic payments will not be allowed.
